Annual Events

Program Year

The majority of our activities occur September through May. We also participate in a week long Summer Camp.

Popcorn Fundraiser

Each fall our troop has the opportunity to sell the Scouting Program through a popcorn fundraiser which helps raise money for our pack to offset costs. We will sell a variety of popcorn and nut products with a percentage that goes to our pack. Forms are sent home with the boys in August for individual sells which also includes incentives. As a group we participate in a Show and Sell at a local business one weekend in the fall. Your scout's help with fundraising will contribute money for the program year

Scouting for Food

Each year, our troop works with our cub scout pack and participates in the national Scouting for Food charity drive. Scouts reach out to the local community to collect non-perishable food items. The event takes place over two weekends in November, the first to hand out flyers to residences around the church, the second to collect the food items. The food is directly distributed to local food pantries for further delivery to those in need. This is an excellent way for Scouts to give back to the community in a very impactful way.

Camping

Summer Camp

We participate in a week long Summer Camp in places such as:

We typically go to a Summer Camp within council once every three years.

Summer\Fall Camping

We typically try to participate in a weekend campout at least once, maybe twice during the late summer\fall.
Here is a list of some of the places we've been to:

  • French Creek State Park

  • Rickets Glen State Park

  • Gifford Pinchot State Park

  • Knoebels

  • Juniata River Canoe\Kayak Trip

Scout Outings

We have also attended other outings in place of typical troop meetings such as:

  • Laserdome

  • Escape Room

  • NASA Goddard Space Flight Center

  • Smithsonian Air and Space Museum - Udvar-Hazy Cetner

Additional Outings

Every year we have been privileged to have the ooportunity to camp in the spring in Hundington, PA at Mr. Will Port's Cabin.
Mr. Port is a longtime friend of the troop as a former Scout leader and his son is one of the Eagle Scouts to come from Troop 195.
It is one of the fondest memories of the boys during their time in scouting.

This is only to name a few of the outings we conduct, and this year in 2020 we'll be participating in Klondike Derby. Keep an eye out for additional items to come along!
